Overview
Prior to a Webex meeting, hosts are able to set up breakout rooms and assign participants to specific breakout rooms. This article explains, as a host, how to split up participants in certain breakout rooms.
Navigating to Your Profile
Please follow these instructions to preassign participants to breakout rooms.
- Open the Webex app and log into Webex with your MEID@maricopa.edu credentials.
- Select "Meetings" on the left-hand side of the application.
- Click "Schedule a meeting".
- Near the bottom left above the blue "Schedule" button, click "Advanced settings".
- Select the "Scheduling options" tab at the top.
- Under "Breakout sessions", make sure the the button next to "Enable breakout sessions" is checked.
- Underneath, click "Preassign breakout sessions".
- Enter the number of breakout sessions you want in the meeting.
- Select an option below on how you want to assign the participants.
- Click the "Create breakout sessions" button.
- In the "Breakout sessions" area, click the "+ Add Session" button.
- Note: Once a breakout session is added, you can use the "Rename" button to rename the breakout room and the "More" button to let anyone join the session or delete the session.
- In the "Not assigned" area, click on a participant to check the box by their name and click "Move to session".
- Select which breakout room you want the participant to be in.
- Once you've preassigned all breakout rooms, click the "Create" button on the bottom.
