Common Reasons the Launch Button Doesn’t Work
- Browser extension glitch: The LastPass extension may not be functioning properly due to a recent update or browser conflict.
- Corrupted local data: Cached data stored by the extension can interfere with vault operations.
- Outdated LastPass version: Running an older version of the extension or app can cause compatibility issues.
- Conflicting software: Other password managers or browser extensions might interfere with LastPass.
- Incorrect vault settings: Some users have reported that toggling vault settings can affect the Launch button behavior.
Solutions:
- Clear local data:
- Open the LastPass browser extension.
- Click Account (bottom right).

- Select Fix problem yourself > Clear local data.

- Log back into LastPass. This often resolves the issue.
- Update the browser and extension:
- Ensure both the browser and the LastPass extension are up to date.
To update the LastPass browser extension, follow these steps based on your browser:
For Chrome
- Open Chrome and go to chrome://extensions/
- Enable Developer mode (toggle in the top right).
- Click Update to refresh all extensions, including LastPass.
- Restart Chrome to ensure changes take effect.
For Firefox
- Open Firefox and go to about:addons.
- Click the gear icon in the top right.
- Select Check for Updates.
