How to Update MCCCD Account Recovery Method

To keep Maricopa accounts secure and ensure you never lose access to your tools, you are required to enter your phone number or email address as a recovery method. This ensures that if your account is ever flagged for a security risk, you can verify your identity immediately without being locked out.

Step 1: Sign In and Access Security Settings  

  • Go to https://aka.ms/mysecurityinfo.

  • If needed, sign in to your account with your email (MEID@maricopa.edu) and password, and Duo MultiFactor Authentication.

Step 2. Add a Recovery Phone Number and/or Email

  • Once logged in, click on "Security info" in the left-hand navigation menu. 

  • Click on “+Add sign-in method”.

  • This will bring you the “Add a sign-in method” pop-up window. 

    • NOTE: You can choose to use your personal phone, email, or both as your recovery contact method

Step 2A. Add a Recovery Phone Number

  • Select “Phone” from the “Add a sign-in method” pop-up window. 

  • Enter your phone number. 

  • Select your preferred verification method (text or phone call) and click Next.

  • You will be asked to verify your phone number. Enter the verification code you received on your phone and click Next.

  • When your phone number is verified, you will see the “Phone number added” screen. Click Done.

Step 2B. Add a Recovery Email

  • Select “Email” from the “Add a sign-in method” pop-up window. 

  • Enter your personal email address and click Next.

  • You will be asked to verify your email. Enter the verification code you received in your email and click Next.

  • When your email address is verified, you will see the “Email added” screen. Click Done.

Step 3: Verify Your Changes

You will be returned to the Security info page. Check that both your new email and/or phone number are listed under your sign-in methods.
