Spotting Delivery Scams

Should I click DHL/FedEx/USPS/Amazon/UPS links sent through text or email?

Let's discuss it below!

Trusting all emails that look like they are from a delivery company could lead to you losing money, having presents or packages delayed, and even result in your card being replaced during the holidays (which may take some time due to the holidays). So, instead of clicking on links sent to your phone via text message or email go to the site in question and login. This simple action helps to create habits that avoid clicking on links to review account information. This time of year scammers will send hundreds of thousands if not millions of emails and text messages. There is not a singular template they use so below we have a few that could be sent to you. Scammers are working hard to look as convincing as possible!

In this email the person changed their first name to no-reply@amazon.com which disguises the real email!

The previous image of a text message was meant to confuse you to click on both of the links provided. Avoid clicking on any links sent to your account(s) and login to Amazon to make sure the purchase went through.

This text was crafted to trick you into clicking on a link and into engaging with a scammer (letting them know you have a package coming and to keep trying). The USPS never initiates contact via text message.

The previous examples of scam emails and texts were only some of which you may receive/. If you choose to use email and text to receive package updates etc. we encourage you to slow down and take caution before clicking on any links. If at all possible log in to an online service manually check to see if any alerts are on your account.
