Why free may not always be better!
Free applications will use the data you give them in most cases for what is agreed upon when accessing their website or application. The data they ask for in a lot of cases could be your location, access to your microphone (phones mostly), access to your location, or anything else you give them access to.
Not always, but some of these free applications or Software as a Service (SaaS) sites may advertise as free software but trick you into running malware. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) gives us some advice and some steps to follow to make sure you are not giving apps more access than necessary.
