Question

How do I know if Student Use software is ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Accessibility Compliant?

Answer

The ADA Accessibility Compliance Review is completed as part of the GCC Software Request Process.

  1. The software Requestor should ask the software vendor to provide the ADA Information.  Attach any relevant materials to the Software Request Form as a PDF.  This will aid and speed up the DRS Compliance Review.
  2. As the software requestor, you should thoroughly search the vendor's website for ADA information. You could also try a direct Google search for the software title or vendor combined with "ADA" or "Accessibility" to see if any links come up. The Software Request Form has a space to paste a URL. Additionally, you can attach a PDF copy of any ADA materials related to the software. This diligent effort will aid and speed up the DRS Compliance Review. GCC's DRS department can also assist.
  3. Rest assured, as a software requestor, when you fill out a Software Request Form for student-use software, the DRS accessibility compliance review is automatically included in the software approval process. You will be notified if there are any additional questions or concerns about the software.
