Accessing Voicemail and Changing your PIN

Overview

This article explains how to update your office phone number in the Maricopa Directory and how to access and manage your District Office voicemail, including remote access, PIN requirements, and personal greetings.

Updating Your Office Phone Number

Maricopa Directory Update

  • Go to https://tools.maricopa.edu.
  • Sign in with your MEID and MEID Password and complete 2FA authentication.
  • From the top navigation, click My Profile.
  • The first tab shown is Password and Security. Do not click this unless you intend to change your password.
  • Locate and update your office phone number with your current District Office extension.
  • Save your changes.

Voicemail Basics

Default Voicemail Settings

  • Your temporary voicemail PIN is 2411365.
  • Your voicemail account uses your 5-digit extension as your voicemail ID.
  • Voicemail messages will be sent to your college email address.
  • Your voicemail account begins with a system greeting that plays your recorded name.
  • You do not need to access voicemail unless you want to record a personal greeting or change your PIN.
  • Messages are stored for 30 days and then automatically deleted.

Accessing Voicemail Remotely

Checking Voicemail Away From the Office

You can check your voicemail when you are away from your District Office phone or working at another college by following these steps:

  • Dial 480-784-0866.
  • When the main greeting plays, press the * key to identify yourself as a subscriber.
  • Enter your 5-digit voicemail ID (your extension).
  • Enter your 7-digit voicemail PIN, then press #.
  • You are now in your voicemail account.
  • To change your PIN from this menu, press 4 for Setup Options.

How to Change Your PIN

  • Dial into your voicemail box by calling 40866 (internal) or 480-784-0866.
  • Enter your current PIN.
  • Press 4 for Setup Options.
  • Press 3 for Preferences.
  • Press 1 to change your PIN.
  • Follow the prompts to enter and confirm your new PIN.

PIN Requirements

Your voicemail PIN must meet the following security requirements:

  • Must be exactly 7 digits.
  • Cannot match the numeric representation of your first or last name.
  • Cannot contain your primary extension or any alternate extensions.
  • Cannot contain the reverse of your primary or alternate extensions.
  • Cannot contain repeated digit groups such as 408408 or 123123.
  • Cannot use only two different digits (for example, 121212).
  • No digit may be used more than two times consecutively (for example, 28883 is allowed, but longer runs are not).
  • Cannot be an ascending or descending sequence such as 012345 or 987654.
  • Cannot contain a group of numbers that form a straight line on the keypad when the group equals the minimum credential length (for example, 123, 456, or 789).

Update Your Personal Greeting

  • Dial into your voicemail box by calling 40866 or 480-784-0866.
  • Enter your PIN.
  • Press 4 for Setup Options.
  • Press 1 for Personal Greetings.
  • Follow the prompts to record, review, and save your new greeting.
