How to Login and Use Cisco Jabber

Overview

Cisco Jabber is the softphone application used at the District Office to place and receive calls directly from your computer. Jabber is pre-installed on all District Office-issued machines, so most users only need to sign in. If Jabber needs to be reinstalled, it is available in the Windows Software Center or MacOS Self Service.

Signing In to Cisco Jabber

Step 1: Open Cisco Jabber

  • On Windows, search the Start Menu for Cisco Jabber.
  • On MacOS, open Applications and select Cisco Jabber.

Step 2: Enter Your Username

The first sign-in window will prompt for your MCCCD username.

  • Enter your login in this format: MEID@maricopa.edu
  • Click Continue.

Some users may see a certificate verification pop-up. If it does appear, click Accept.

Step 3: Enter Your MEID and Password

A second login window will appear.

  • Username: MEID (do NOT include @maricopa.edu)
  • Password: Your MEID password
  • Click Log In.

Step 4: Accept Certificate (If Prompted)

Some users may see a certificate verification pop-up. If it appears:

  • Click Accept.

Step 5: Approve Webex/Google Authentication

After the initial login, Jabber will launch a browser window to authenticate using Webex with your Google/MCCCD account. This step is required only the first time you sign in on a device.

  • Select your Maricopa work account (e.g., MEID@domail.maricopa.edu or MEID@maricopa.edu).
  • Click Continue / Allow when asked for access permission.
  • Complete any prompted Maricopa login or MFA verification.

Step 6: Enter the One-Time Code

After allowing access, the browser will show a 4-digit one-time code. Jabber will simultaneously display a small window asking for this code.

  • Enter the 4-digit code from the browser into the Jabber pop-up.
  • Click Verify.

Once the code is verified, Jabber will finish signing in and open normally. This Webex/Google step typically only needs to be completed once per device.
