Overview

This Knowledge Base article provides troubleshooting steps for common issues encountered with Microsoft 365 applications by students, staff, and faculty of the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD). If you're experiencing difficulties accessing or using Microsoft 365 apps, follow the guidelines below to resolve your issues.

Problem

Users may encounter problems accessing Microsoft 365 apps, including but not limited to:

  • Inability to sign into the Microsoft 365 portal or desktop apps.

  • Issues with installing or using Microsoft 365 desktop applications.

  • Problems related to account licensing or subscription.

Commonly, issues arise from using incorrect login credentials, specifically not using the required MEID@maricopa.edu email format.

Resolution

  1. Ensure Correct Login Credentials: Confirm you are using your MEID@maricopa.edu to sign in. This is a frequent oversight that leads to access issues.

  2. Accessing Microsoft 365 Portal:

If you can access and use the web apps, the issue likely lies with the desktop app version on your device.

  1. Reinstall Desktop Apps:

  • Consider uninstalling and then reinstalling the Microsoft 365 desktop applications. Instructions for this process are available in the Microsoft 365 instructions provided by MCCCD.

  1. Verify App Version:

More Information

  • Downloading Desktop Apps: Downloading desktop versions of Microsoft 365 apps is optional. These apps are accessible via the cloud on the Office 365 Portal for those preferring web versions.

  • Disconnecting Work or School Account: On personal devices, removing and reconnecting your work or school account can resolve certain issues. Resources for this process are available on YouTube.

  • Microsoft Access & Chromebook: Microsoft Access is not available for Chromebooks. However, Chromebook users can use Microsoft 365 apps via the web portal.
