Software Center Is Not Working

Description

How to manually update computer policy if the Software Center is not working or the computer is not getting updates.  

Instructions

  1. Click the Windows key and type "control" in the search bar. Then select "Control Panel" from the search listUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  2. Select "System and Security". 
  3. Select "Configuration Manager".

  4. Select the "Actions" tab. Choose "Machine Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle" and click "Run Now".
  5. Wait about 5 minutes and then restart your computer.
  6. It could take up to 24 hours for the policy to update.  You may continue to use your computer after completing these steps.  If you still encounter issues, you may bring your device to the IT Help Desk for further assistance or create a ticket.
